SHE THOUGHT

She thought he loved her,
Cherished and fantasized his presence,
Bore children,
Built a home,
And sacrificed she for he.

But he smiled in deceit,
Bruised and hurt her,
Ground children,
Broke home
Forgot them, not caring for she.

With a broken Heart,
A pierced spirit,
A lost soul,
She could not find she,
Forgot herself,
And sought she years on end,
Her clipped wings ached and hurt,
Stuck with a plague,
In her fragile heart.

As I sit and think of the stars,
They stopped dancing,
Moon gazed at she in anguish,
Winds whispered horror,
The sun, scaled her skin.

As she walked on her head,
Thoughts whirling within,
Through a blocked road,
Wishing he loved she,
Wishing again never loving he.

She drowned in tears,
The river flowing dangerously,
Choking her gut to breathlessness,
Flooding she to madness,
The craze too deafening,
The mind too alert,
If only she could shake he.
