OFFICE SPACE COMFORT IN MODERN CITIES

The office environment affects the performance one puts through while working in the given conditions. This as well affects the individuals well being hence heavily reflecting on the former. Some of the factors that influence the comfort one experiences within the office are;

Temperature
Ensure that the temperatures in the office are set to the moderate health requirements. This reduces unnecessary distractions and fatigue. Indoor air conditioning should be on check to keep these requirements favorable for maximum productivity within the office. Temperature requirement degrees are not constant in all regions but vary depending on the locality of the office. You would most definitely find temperature settings in an office space in Chicago different from those in other regions.

Office Layout
There are so many ways in which an office can be planned and this also affects how comfortable an individual is in performing his duties. A doctor with an office space in Manhattan would not be the most comfortable conducting his check ups in an open planned office as he would probably feel it is a breach of his patients privacy. He would rather prefer a closed layout with some

Noise
It is very hygienic not to get yourself exposed to extreme levels of noise. This is a great in the industrial sector where machines used are very noisy. It can also be a factor when those in the same office raise their voices and make the whole place chaotic. Noise levels should be standardized and measures put in place to reduce the amount of noise absorbed at all given times. Use of ear pads and other noise reduction gadgets should be encouraged at the work place. Exposure limits to noise are set out in every region and this should be observed at all time, for example, for an office space in Washington, one would be expected to adhere to the specifications of the area.

Furniture
Where a person’s responsibilities require long hours of sitting, the posture of the working desk provides for either the increase or reduction of aches and pains associated with sitting in bad positions. Care should be taken to ensure that there is adequate spacing of furniture in the office and that they are of appropriate sizes to minimize strain.
